WHY

Eat. Pray. Love.

To know me is to know my obsession will all things Eat, Pray, Love. I have been a life long fan of all three things individually and when Elizabeth Gilbert wrote a book about all three, to say I was thrilled would be an understatement. The book was recommended to me by my high school art teacher, I was a senior at boarding school, locked away from my friends and family, can you tell boarding school wasn't my idea? I digress....So Ms. Hunt told me to read this book because she just knew it would be perfect for me. At the time, I was eager to pick up anything besides my AP reading list (which included Orlando by Virginia Wolff, enough said.). I read the book and to say Elizabeth Gilbert's journey resonated with me would be the understatement of the century. She, unbeknownst to her, has influenced my personal journey, my journey with humanity, and my journey with Him more than she will ever know. The movie was beautiful and it finally put music and "life" to the words I had been holding so near and dear to my heart. Its articulate, poignant and illustrates the resilience of the human spirit. She also gets props for being a woman. haha.

I really encourage you to read the book or atleast see the movie, if anything it will empower you to take control of your life. Environments and families definitely play vital roles in shaping our lives, but ultimately its up to us to own our actions.
